Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Norfolk Concrete Company website and any estimate or work you get from us. By using the site, asking for a quote or hiring our crew, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
When you hire us, we also give you a written estimate or agreement for your job. If that document says something different from this page, the written agreement for your job is the one that counts.
What we do
Norfolk Concrete Company is a concrete contractor in Norfolk, NE, and we also work in Wayne and the cities around them. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, foundations and other flatwork, which is our word for flat slabs on the ground. You can read more about our crew on the About page and see our full list of services from the home page.
What's on this website is general information about concrete work. It isn't a quote and it isn't advice for your particular house. Your job gets its own look in person, because the ground, the drainage and the old slab are different at every address.
Estimates and pricing
We give free quotes on site, with no obligation to hire us. Your written estimate lists the work, the price and how long the price holds, so you know what you're agreeing to before we start.
Some things don't show up until the old concrete is out, like soft or wet subgrade, which is the dirt your new slab sits on, buried debris or roots. If we find something like that, we stop and talk with you before we do any extra work or add any cost. We won't change the price without your OK.
Changes you ask for after the work starts, like a bigger patio or a different finish, are added in writing with their cost before we do them.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We set your pour date when you approve the estimate, but concrete depends on the weather. Rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat can make us move the date, because pouring in bad conditions leaves a weaker slab. We'll let you know as soon as we can and set a new date.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (402) 844-1238 as early as you can. Once concrete is ordered or the site is dug out, your written agreement says what costs you're responsible for, since those materials and that work can't be undone.
You agree to give our crew reasonable access to the work area, to keep pets and vehicles out of the way, and to tell us about anything you know is buried in the yard, such as sprinkler lines, septic parts or private wires. Your written agreement will say who arranges any permit the job needs, and your city or county decides whether one is required.
Payment
Your written estimate says when payment is due, whether a deposit is needed and which payment methods we take. Payment is due on the dates it lists.
If a payment is late, we may pause remaining work until it's settled. Where Nebraska law allows, unpaid balances on finished work may be collected through the usual legal steps, including a lien on the property.
Our guarantee and what concrete does naturally
We stand behind our work and back every job with our satisfaction guarantee. If something isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it. Any written warranty for your job is spelled out in your agreement, and that document sets what's covered and for how long.
Concrete shrinks as it dries, so small hairline cracks can happen even on a well-built slab. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line instead of anywhere. Small shrinkage cracks, slight color differences between pours and normal wear aren't defects.
Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from things outside our control, such as driving or walking on new concrete before the curing time we give you, heavy loads the slab wasn't built for, deicing salts used in the first winter, changes to drainage or grading made after we leave, tree roots, or ground movement and flooding. Curing is the wait while the concrete gains strength, and staying off it until we say is part of keeping the slab sound.
Apart from our guarantee and any written warranty in your agreement, our work and this website are provided as they are, without other promises, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the extent Nebraska law allows, Norfolk Concrete Company isn't responsible for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of your driveway, lost income or other costs that come from a delay or a problem with the work. Our total responsibility for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We are fully licensed and insured. Nothing on this page limits any responsibility that can't be limited under the law.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with anything, call us first at (402) 844-1238 or reach us through the Contact page. Most problems get fixed fastest when we come back out and look at the slab together.
If we can't work it out between us, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court, unless the law or your written agreement says otherwise.
Which state's law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska. Any court case about them will be handled in the courts of the county where the work was done, or in Madison County, Nebraska.

We may update this page from time to time. The version posted here when you use the site or sign an agreement is the one that applies, and changes won't alter a written agreement you've already signed.
